CySDK Problems

I have to tell you all, I just figured out how to use SDK myself, (thanks to Mike) so this article will only cover how to use it for the simple stuff (boot logos, already created games and apps, etc.). First of all, if you don't want unofficial games and apps for the Cybiko or cool boot logos for the Cybiko, you don't need SDK. All it's for is putting stuff on your Cybiko that isn't in the Cyberload. Now, here's how to use SDK for simple tasks. This does NOT cover how to create your own games.

First download SDK if you don't already have it. You can find SDK at cybiko.com in the developers section, near the bottom. Just click it and download it. After you have that, you will need to find a fan site with the unofficial games and apps you want. I recommend Cybiko Dev'rs, simply because they have the best selection. Download the games or apps into your C:/Program Files/Cybiko/Cyberload/local_files/user_files folder. At this point, you can either start the SDK, or use Cyberload to put them on your Cybiko. Quickly, heres how you put them on through Cyberload: Run Cyberload, scroll down to the bottom of the games available from cybiko.com, maximize the my computer, download them over straight out of your user files. Ok, I prefer to use SDK, probably just cause it makes me feel smart typing in one command and all the stuff happens... I think you will like it too.

Once you have your game/app, here's what you have to do to get them on your Cybiko using SDK. Go into SDK (Start/Cybiko SDK/console) and type "ver" in the bottom bar. Then click "send" at the top. If nothing happens, open up a new window and close the old one. In the new window, select your COM port at the top, then type "ver" again and click "send". Your files should come up, so find the game or app you want and open it. (quick note: Make sure you have unzipped or extracted the file you just chose or it WILL NOT WORK. You can get an unzip program at Winzip.com if you don't already have a program to Unzip it.) This will quickly send it to your Cybiko. After it is done, replace the "ver" with "reboot" and press enter. This will reboot your Cybiko, and you should have your game or app. Use the same procedure for getting boot logos onto your Cybiko.
