Kamikaze Highway

Kamikaze Highway is an average game, but it is fun.  It is pretty simple, and actually a little too easy.  I still have the game, but it probably won't stay on my Cybiko for very long.  The game is somewhat monotonous and the sound is extremely annoying.  If you don't mute it, you won't even get through one level without going insane because of the incessant buzzing of the fly.  Now I will go into the graphix of the game.

Kamikaze Highway doesn't have the best graphix in the world, but they are decent.  Your character, the fly, is the worst part of this game's graphix.  You can see the wings of the fly moving sometimes, but it looks more like a glitch than smooth animation.  The cars that pass you are pretty simply animated, but they are ok.  One cool thing about the game's graphix is when the highway has a curve and it brings you through a cool 3D type animation that is kind of hard to explain, but you can still control your character during these turns on the road.  As for the background, it is very satisfactory.  It is a mountain range that looks very good compared to most of the games graphix, and it stunned my enough to lose my concentration and get hit by a car J

As for gameplay in Kamikaze Highway, it is average.  You pretty much fly left and right to dodge cars and that's it.  There is one cool feature when you hit enter and it does a up and turn type maneuver.  You can only do it a few times, which bummed me out since it was my favorite feature.  There are only three levels, which is way too short and the levels are easy.  The difficulty does progress throughout the game, but not much.  The only difference between levels is the distance between cars, which becomes shorter with every level.  Anyone with decent hand-eye coordination can beat Kamikaze Highway the first time through.  It definitely needs more difficulty to make it more challenging, and it needs more than three levels.  The good thing about the gameplay is that the controls are fairly responsive and everything works out pretty well.

Despite everything I have said so far (which for the most part has been negative) this game is fun.  Although I will probably delete it after a week of playtime, it will keep me happy for at least that long.  As long as you have the volume muted, this game can be played for a while and it will still be fun.

Overall, I would recommend this game.  I can't guarantee that you will love it, but you should at least beat it a few times before it becomes tiresome.  After all, it is free!  You can tell that Cybiko put this game together rather quickly, but it served it's purpose as the day's game compared to many of Cybiko's games, this one was pretty good.  Sure the object is rather corny and retarded sounding, but just picture yourself as a fly fighting for survival and it will take on a new meaning to you (hahaha).  Anywayz, here is my conclusion.
